If you wish to come to Italy, you should be aware that knowing the national language is a crucial asset. Your stay as well as your daily life will be less difficult here!! Moreover you will have the opportunity to better experience the Italian culture and way of living and, it will help you complete the bureaucratic formalities!

Learn Italian abroad     
All around the world, there are language organisations or schools offering Italian language courses for foreigners. In particular, the Italian Cultural Institutes (in Italian "istituti italiani di cultura") aim at promoting the Italian language and culture through events, exhibitions, academic exchange programmes, etc. Moreover they also organise Italian language courses specifically designed for foreigners.
If you decide to attend a language course not provided by the Italian cultural institute, we suggest you make sure that the language school you have chosen is recognised as institutes of formal training and is qualified to issue certificates stating your knowledge and command of the Italian language. You may need a certification for your university programme!

Tandem Language Method     
Tandem is a flexible, entertaining and easy method for learning languages. It is based on mutual language exchange between two partners both native speakers (it would be the best solution) in the language the proponent wants to learn. It is an interesting way to learn and make new friends, especially if you live in another city or country! It is a good way to improve your language skills and achieve fluency in the language you are interested in. 
Moreover, many language school all over the world also work according to this method.
