Ferry boat
You can easily go to Muggia by ferryboat. The ferryboat line "Trieste - Muggia" is available year-round. It leaves from Molo Bersaglieri to Diga foranea in Muggia. During summertime there are ferry boats reaching other seaside resorts in Friuli Venezia Giulia: Grignano, Duino, Sistiana and Barcola.

Tram line Trieste - Opicina  no.2 (nickname "El tram de Opicina")
The tram takes you up from the city to the surrounding beautiful natural environment of the Carso plateau, 348 m above sea level. The tram leaves from Opicina and the terminus is located in the centre of town, in Piazza Oberdan, and the cable railway section begins just a few hundred meters away. Tramway no. 2 departures are every 20 minutes from early morning to early evening (see the tram schedule - available only in Italian)
The line was first run in 1902. Tourists also find this special means of transport (half-way between a long distance tramway and a cable railway) an unforgettable experience during their stay in Trieste.
