According to the Italian Law Art. 12 del D.L. 21.3.1978.
n. 59 convertito in legge 18.5.1978 n. 191 Anyone
who gives hospitality, sells or rents a property to someone else
for a period longer than 30 days (uninterrupted), must declare it
to the Police Security Authority (i.e. at the Questura of Trieste)
by 48 hours after the property disposal.
The form "Comunicazione di cessione di fabbricato" must be
filled in and signed by the property owner or by the tenant in the
case of a rent contract.
The owner will ask your personal details (surname, name, birth,
place of birth, citizenships, city of residence, address, type and
number of id) by checking your id or passport.
Remember to inform your landlord or the tenant (in case
of subcontract) about this legal procedure! If you come form a Non
EU country, you will need this document for the permit of
stay...
Be aware that this legal procedure concerns Italian, EU,
EEA and Non EU citizens!
