The TALENTS³ Project

TALENTS³

AREA Science Park, with the financial contribution of the European Social Fund within the Operational Regional Programme of Friuli Venezia Giulia region, has developed TALENTS³ Project, the fourth edition of TALENTS Fellowship Programmes.

The Project is conducted within the long-term strategy for the internationalisation of the Friuli Venezia Giulia scientific system, pursued by AREA Science Park within the CER - Coordination Network of Research institutions of Friuli Venezia Giulia.

The Fellowship Programme TALENTS³ offers:

Activity 1: 7 outgoing research grants to carry out projects at a foreign scientific institution or enterprise developing R&D activities, located in the territory of the EUSAIR (Slovenia*, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, Greece) or the future EUSALP (Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein) macro-regional strategies, with mandatory return to Friuli Venezia Giulia region; the activity is addressed to researchers resident in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region.

Activity 2: 7 incoming research grants to carry out projects at one of the scientific institutions belonging to the CER - Coordination Network of Research institutions of Friuli Venezia Giulia or at one of the enterprises established in the regional territory and implementing R&D activities. The activity is addressed to researchers resident in the territories part of the EUSAIR (Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, Greece) and of the future EUSALP (Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein) macro-regional strategies.

*For the outgoing mobility Slovenia is considered belonging to EUSAIR macroregion only

The 14 research grants will be awarded in two different phases:

- 1st phase: during year 2015, 4 outgoing and 3 incoming research grants
- 2nd phase: during year 2016, 3 outgoing and 4 incoming research grants

 

Research projects will be developed as follows:

- 1st phase, start on April the 1st, 2016; end on September the 30th, 2017. 
- 2nd phase, start on April the 1st, 2017; end on September the 30th, 2018.


For year 2015, the Call for Proposals has expired on October the 8th 2015.

Candidates are free to choose a research topic within one of the following scientific areas: 1. Biotechnologies and Diagnostics2. Material technologies, Mechanics, Physics and Chemistry3. Ecology, Environment and Energy4. Information Technology5. Economic, Human and Social Sciences.  
Moreover, research projects must be coherent with the following technological areas of the Smart Specialisation Strategy of Friuli Venezia Giulia:1. Agri-food2. Strategic production chains: industry engineering, home systems3. Maritime technologies4. Smart Health5. Culture, creativity and tourism.

 

Beneficiaries and admission criteria

Beneficiaries of Activity 1 and Activity 2 shall be expert researchers (PhD or at least 3 years of full-time research activities after graduation). Regarding all the specific requirements for eligibility, please see TALENTS³ Call for Proposals.
The eligibility check on the submitted proposals will be carried out by AREA Science Park, on the basis of the information and data supplied by candidates.

 

The selection procedure

The eligible proposals will be evaluated by a Scientific Selection Committee (SSC), that will include independent and expert professionals appointed by AREA Science Park at an international level, in possession of a high expertise in the scientific areas foreseen by the Project.  
TALENTS³ selection procedure will follow the main principles adopted by the European Commission in the evaluation of the Marie Curie proposals and in line with the "European Charter for Researchers" and the "Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers". The evaluation criteria and the full procedure are described in details in the Call for Proposals.
