Why study and train in FVG?

There are many reasons to choose the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region for studying and training. First of all, the region offers a wide range of opportunities thanks to the presence of long-standing and worldwide-known national and international academic and research institutions. Moreover, after graduation or post doc programme, you have the opportunity to be awarded a fellowship to pursue advanced studies in one of the prestigious research centres based on the territory.

Other reasons for choosing the Friuli Venezia Giulia:

... is in centre of Europe
Although small in size, the region, located at the northeast of Italy, is in the heart of Europe as a natural opening to the sea for many Central European countries. It plays an important role in connecting the Mediterranean to Central and Eastern Europe. Its role is even more strategic as a logistical platform with the enlargement of the European Union. This strategic location makes it an international and multicultural region.

... is a student-sized region with a high quality and standard of living conditions
According to the survey carried out every year by Il Sole24ore newspaper, in 2009 Trieste together with Udine was among the first 20 Italian cities on the list of those with the best quality of life.

… is a territory with a rich cultural life
Friuli Venezia Giulia has a rich and varied cultural life. There is a long series of local and international events in music, art, history and sport. The region has also a vocation for tourism offering sea, mountains and a central area rich in tourist destinations where history, art and environment get together in a rich mosaic.

... provides a welcome services centre dedicated to students and researchers coming from all over the world
The academic and research institutions of the region have set up a Joint Welcome Office in order to provide tailored services thanks to a web site for pre-arrival information and to an helpdesk located in the city centre. You can find updated information about entry and residence procedures, formalities to be completed once in Italy, health coverage, living, social life and leisure, events and opportunities.

If you wish to know more about the opportunities offered by each institution, please visit the section "opportunities". According to your interests and the expertise of the institutions located in the region, you will be able to choose among many opportunities in order to enhance your technical skills and competences such as university programmes, training paths, graduate and postgraduate courses, short or long term fellowships, advanced courses and MBAs.

Here follows a brief presentation about Higher Education and Internationalisation in Friuli Venezia Giulia (available only in Italian).
